News and notes on some of the top prospects in the Mid-Atlantic.
In less than two months, five-star Woodbridge (Va.) defensive end Da'Shawn Hand will make his college decision. Earlier this month, the 6-foot-5, 262-pound Hand took his first official visit to Michigan. Up next, will be an official visit to Alabama on Oct. 26 for their game against Tennessee, followed by his final visit to Florida on Nov. 9 when then the Gators host Vanderbilt. I believe Alabama and Florida are both making strong pushes, but ultimately I think Hand will commit to Michigan on Nov. 14.
Four-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan Catholic wide receiver Jamil Kamara said he will probably take an official visit to Pittsburgh on Nov. 9 when they play Notre Dame. He already has one scheduled to Wisconsin on Oct. 12 when the Badgers play Northwestern. As far as other official visits, the 6-2, 205-pound Kamara will either to go to Virginia on Nov. 2 when the Cavaliers take on Clemson or on Nov. 30 for their game against Virginia Tech.
2015 four-star Belmont (N.C.) South Point outside linebacker Tanner Muse has added offers from Ole Miss and Vanderbilt in the past week. The 6-3, 210-pound Muse also holds offers from Clemson, Duke, Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Virginia. Early on, Clemson, North Carolina and N.C. State are in the best shape with Muse.
2015 four-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes wide receiver Jaason Lewis said Georgia Tech and Tennessee are standing out at the this time. The 6-3, 233-pound Lewis, who already holds double-digit scholarship offers, said he thinks some of schools close to offering are Florida, Pittsburgh and UCLA. He will visit Georgia Tech on Oct. 19 when the Yellow Jackets host Syracuse.
2015 four-star Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton offensive tackle Matthew Burrell had a great trip to Michigan earlier this month. However, the Wolverines have not offered – yet. Boston College offered the 6-6, 285-pound Burrell earlier this week. He will visit Virginia Tech this weekend.
