The visitor breakdown

Nebraska opens up with five home games to start their 2013-14 season. The Huskers host South Dakota State and are expected to host one official visitor this weekend.

Nebraska has a 2:30 kickoff this weekend against South Dakota and after hosting four players last weekend including two commitments the Huskers may only have one this weekend. Nebraska continues to appeal to defensive recruits with this highly touted high school defensive back set to visit Lincoln.

Official Visitor:

DeAndre Scott, DB, 5-foot-8/180-pounds, Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep
Scott is a player that can do a lot of different things on the football field. He plays safety for his high school squad and as Head Coach Al Crosby put it, "He's my Brian Dawkins." Scott definitely can play some defense, but he's also capable of playing offense too and is off to a good start. Coach Crosby has also said that both Scott and Nebraska are interested in him figuring into the punt and kick returns picture. While Scott does play safety for Imhotep I would view him immediately as a cornerback recruit for Nebraska based on size alone. Through three games this season Scott has 6 rushing attempts for 227 yards, averaging over 14 yards per carry, and two touchdowns. He also has two interceptions on defense.
