Huskers still very much in the hunt

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a bye this week and they are hitting the road again to check out recruits. The Nebraska staff will be by on Thursday to check out this recruit who has already officially visited Lincoln.

DeAndre Scott, a 5-foot-8 and 180-pound defensive back from Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep says that his team is still working hard despite having a very good season.

"My season is going excellent," Scott said. "We are still working like we are at the bottom. We are 6-1 though and 3-0 in districts so far."

Scott took his first official visit, and his only official visit so far, to Nebraska. The Nebraska staff has made quite the impression on Scott and he said that the Huskers will be by to see him later this week.

"I still talk to Nebraska all of the time. Coach John Papuchis is the one that I talk to most of the time. He is going to be here to see me this Thursday in fact."

Scott reported from his official visit that the defense that Nebraska runs is a great fit for him and his skill set.

"I like their defense and what they expect of their defensive backs. They like me as a cornerback and as a nickel. They said that sometimes they could see me moving down into the box. I like the physical side and the coverage side of playing the position."
