Huskers trying to get in picture for McNeil

Nebraska is on the outside looking in for this offensive tackle. The Huskers aren't completely out of it completely, the list could get shuffled, but as of right now Nebraska is trying to climb onto his list.

Lukayus McNeil from Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central says that he is an improved player. The 6-foot-7 and 290-pound offensive tackle says that he put in a lot of work in the off-season to be prepared for his senior year.

"I think that I have improved a lot from my junior year when it comes to my footwork, staying low and working on my quickness," McNeil said. "I have also gotten better at the mental side. I am keeping my attitude under control and doing a lot of film study."

The offers continue to roll in for McNeil, but they are still being evaluated. McNeil has taken one official visit and plans to take the other visits.

"I have a couple of new offers. I am going to visit a few places. I have four official visits left to take. I took an official visit to North Carolina State in September."

McNeil has a top five, has only taken one official visit, but nothing is scheduled. The list is what is is right now.

"I am not sure about that yet," McNeil said. "It's really the same schools as before for me -- Michigan State, Louisville, Ohio State and Oregon -- that is my list right now."

One of the last schools to offer McNeil is getting some consideration for one of those final four official visits. McNeil admits that they could slide into his top five and one of the remaining visit spots.

"I got the Nebraska offer probably a couple of weeks ago. It's fairly new interest. I had been hearing from them, but not a lot.

"They came to my school during their bye week a week ago. It was Coach John Garrison. I have spoken with a couple of their coaches. Nebraska is a school that I could consider for an official visit still."
