Doherty set to see Nebraska

Kansas City (Mo.) Winnetonka junior Marquise Doherty made a trip this summer Lincoln. He got a Nebraska offer shortly following and now he is getting a chance to head back to Lincoln for a game.

Marquise Doherty from Kansas City (Mo.) Winnetonka picked up an offer from Nebraska following an unofficial visit. The standout athlete said he wanted to return to Lincoln for another visit this fall and he's finally getting that chance.

"Yes I am visiting Nebraska this weekend," Doherty said. "I am really looking forward to seeing what their game day atmosphere is like and how they handle everything as players and coaches."

The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound Doherty has 4.47 speed and could project to play a number of positions at the next level. Nebraska has gone as far as to say that they like him on both sides of the football. It sounds like they are leaning one way though, like Doherty is, and fortunately it's to the same side of the football.

"When I visited this past summer they told me that they liked me on both sides of the ball actually. I think that they are leaning more towards offense.

"Playing offense is what I prefer. It won't make a difference to me if I am running back or wide receiver just as long as the ball is in my hands."
