Huskers move up the list for Keys

The Nebraska staff will have some holes to fill in after graduation this spring in the defensive secondary. This junior college defensive back says that Huskers moved up his list after his official visit this weekend.

Josh Keys from Perkinston (Miss.) Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. was in Lincoln this weekend for an official visit to Nebraska. Keys said that the Huskers really showed him a good time.

"I am at the airport now," Keys said. "I really enjoyed myself on my visit here. They showed me a great time. It was a sellout, 90,000 fans or so, and even though they lost the defense played hard. Too many turnovers in the game."

The fans are a reoccurring theme with Nebraska official visitors. Keys says that he and the other recruits were a little like celebrities while they were there because everyone knew who they were.

"I got to know Joe Keels a lot here on the visit. I am from Mississippi and never been to Nebraska, but there were all of these fans and kids that knew who I was. They were all yelling my name and at all of the other recruits. They showed us all a lot of love."

Keys got an opportunity to sit down with the Nebraska coaches and talk about how he fits in the defense. Both Keys and the coaches likened a current player to how they could see Keys fitting in potentially.

"Coach Bo Pelini and Coach Terry Joseph spoke with me about how they feel I fit into their defense. I can see myself as a good fit with their style. I play a lot like Stanley Jean-Baptiste. They said that I would fit in just like him and he will probably be a NFL draft pick this spring."

this was the second official visit for Keys. He gave the visit a very high grade, but not a perfect one. He says that the reason for the knock on the grade really doesn't hurt his overall opinion of the visit or of Nebraska.

"I visited Texas Tech about three weeks ago when they played Iowa State. I would say that this visit was a "9". There isn't anything that could have been better except if they would have pulled out the "W". The loss didn't hurt my overall visit though."

The Nebraska visit is just the beginning for Keys who is going to be busy taking other visits over the coming weeks. He says that the Huskers have moved up his list of favorites following this trip.

"I am going to go to Oklahoma State next weekend when they play Baylor. I am going to take my last two visits to Auburn and Ole Miss. I would say that Nebraska really moved up my list after this weekend. I really enjoyed myself."
