Waz chooses the Huskers

The feeling all long has been for Nebraska fans that it would just be a matter of time before Chance Waz joined the class. The time was today and the Huskers added commit No. 16 to the 2014 class.

After taking an official visit to Nebraska just a couple of weeks ago and then decommitting from Colorado the thought was that Chance Waz would soon be a Husker. Those thought would be correct as Waz committed to Nebraska.

Multiple sources have confirmed with BigRedReport.com that Waz has committed to Nebraska. The 5-foot-11 and 170-pound cornerback from Pflugerville (Texas) Hendrickson is the teammate of Trai Mosley who is also committed to Nebraska. Annabel Stephan of Scout.com spoke with Waz at his high school in this previous report:

"It was my first official visit. It was pretty cool. When I had gone up to Colorado, it was just a visit, so this was my first time to see that cool stuff, like the fans and meeting the players and the coaches," he said.

Waz's host for his official visit to Nebraska was defensive back Boaz Joseph, and the athlete says he really enjoyed getting to spend time with the team.

"They act just like us down here in the locker room. We joke around, we have fun, but when it's time to work, it's time to work. I really like how they have bonded and how they act with their players," he said.

The athlete, who has been recruited by secondary coach Terry Joseph and recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach Ross Els, was blown away by the atmosphere of Game Day.

"When I was up there, I loved everything: the facilities, the fans, the 93,000 people at the game. I just really took everything in," he said.

Trai Mosley confirmed that Waz is a Husker in a recent tweet:
Trai Mosley ?@TmEra_6: Everybody Go follow my bro @SupermanEra_3 (Chance Waz), HES OFFICIALLY A CORNHUSKER ?

Waz was selected as the District MVP this past season.
