Huskers offer McDaniel

The wait is over for Danzel McDaniel. The standout JUCO cornerback from Dodge City (Kans.) C.C. picked up an offer that he was anticipating since last week. What's next for McDaniel?

Danzel McDaniel heard last week that Nebraska was close to offering and then that an offer would be coming. A few minutes ago the 6-foot-2 and 200-pound cornerback from Dodge City (Kans.) C.C. got the offer from the Huskers.

"I just got the Nebraska offer," McDaniel said. "I literally got it just a couple of minutes ago. I spoke with Coach Terry Joseph from Nebraska and he said that he wanted to offer.

"He told me that they would like to bring my physical ability with me to Nebraska. They are looking for guys that can jam and then run with the receivers off of the line."

McDaniel is interested in visiting Lincoln, and intends to, but it's not set up yet. Another call with him and Nebraska is set for tonight to try and get the plans worked out for McDaniel to visit this coming weekend.

"Yes sir, but I don't have it set up yet. Nebraska is supposed to be calling me back tonight to discuss that. I think that I will make it the 13th and I sign then on the 18th."

Nebraska already has a commitment from one player from Dodge City C.C., Terrell Clinkscales, and McDaniel and Terrell are close. He says that they also bring an intensity on the field as well.

"Terrell and I are close," McDaniel said. "We are like brothers in a lot of ways. He told me that he wants me to come with him because he knows that I bring that high motor with me and I know that he has it too."
