There was definitely a need for another experienced wide receiver or two this year when the injury bug hit Nebraska. Eric Lauderdale from Mission Viejo (Calif.) Saddleback C.C. could step in and play immediately for the Huskers.
Eric Lauderdale from Mission Viejo (Calif.) Saddleback C.C. is a four-star wide receiver and he just returned from a weekend in Nebraska. The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound receiver was impressed with what he saw.
"The visit went a lot better than I thought it would," Lauderdale said. "I didn't know what to expect coming from California and it was great. I was really impressed."
Like the other recruits this past weekend Lauderdale got a lot of time to spend with the coaches. He mentioned Coach Rick Fisher and Head Coach Bo Pelini a lot, but said that he was very comfortable with the whole staff.
"I got a chance to spend a lot of time with the entire staff. I know that Nebraska is losing Quincy Enunwa and I can see me taking the spot out there on the field in their offense."
Things might come down to a signing day decision for Lauderdale. He says that Nebraska is in his final list and that he could possibly take three more visits before he signs in February.
"I have a top five and Nebraska is in that five," Lauderdale said. "I am planning on taking visits to Oregon and Arizona State. I might still go to Tennessee and I have already been to Florida."
