Abdullah earns All-American status:
The Associated Press named Nebraska junior running back Ameer Abdullah a third-team All-American on Tuesday. Abdullah joined fellow Big Ten running back Carlos Hyde on the list.
Abdullah has rushed for 1,568 yards on 254 carries in 2013. Over the weekend he earned Nebraska MVP honors voted on by his teammates. He also was named Husker Lifter of the Year.
Practices continue for both squads:
The Nebraska media was not invited to attend post-practice in Lincoln on Tuesday, but Georgia head coach Mark Richt did talk after the Bulldogs' session.
"I was really pleased with the practice today," said Richt according to Dawgpost.com. "The guys were focused and they got better. We started off with a lot of energy and we ended that way, too. At times, it was electric with some of the runs, some of the passing and catching, and some of the hits. This is the way we need to keep practicing to get ready for the bowl."
The Nebraska media is expecting another chance to talk with players and head coach Bo Pelini before the Huskers head to Jacksonville.
