Quick hitter: Pelini says S&C is fine

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini says his team is a fourth-quarter squad and well conditioned.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska has definitely had it's fair share of injuries this season, but head coach Bo Pelini says don't blame the strength and conditioning portion of the program - there isn't a problem there.

"I have never seen a strength and conditioning issue," said Pelini. "When you are going to get MCL (injuries), you are going to get MCLs, there is no strength and conditioning issue there.

"We've outlasted teams in the fourth quarter. We have always since I've been here, since coach (James) Dobson and that group have been running the strength and conditioning, we've been a good fourth-quarter football team."

Pelini points to the return of former Huskers in the NFL during the offseason as evidence the strength and conditioning program is in the right place.

"There is a reason guys like Suh, Prince, Barrett Rudd, and the rest of them come back and train with Coach Dobson in the offseason. To me that speaks for itself," said Pelini. "To me, that speaks for itself. I don't know where that (speculation) comes from. You know, that's just somebody who doesn't have very much knowledge making comments."
