Two official visits coming up for Ward

Chicago schools are out with the recent round of cold and inclement weather. Denzel Ward has had some additional time to think about recruiting. One visit is set up while another is ready to get some finishing touches.

Denzel Ward from Chicago (Ill.) Simeon is getting a couple of extra days off. The 6-fot-8 and 290-pound offensive tackle isn't getting a lot of opportunity to do much of anything because of the weather outside.

"Yes sir we got a couple of extra days off," Ward said. "They canceled school today and they canceled our school for tomorrow too. The wind chill here is still around -30 degrees."

Ward has two official visits planned for January. One visit is set as far as tickets are in hand. The other Ward is interested getting a little more set up, but realizes that this team just finished up their bowl game.

"I know that things are a go for Syracuse on January 17th. I already have my tickets in hand and I am set to go.

"I haven't spoken with the Nebraska staff since their bowl game, but I don't think that they were going to be getting back to the offices until today."

Nebraska is definitely in good standing with Ward and this is more of a matter of the Nebraska staff getting back to the office and in touch with Ward. Ward said that he might try and call the Nebraska staff later tonight.

"I am definitely trying to get that visit pulled together for the 24th, but it's just not set. I will probably try and give them a call later tonight."
