Walton talks about departing coach

Nebraska is losing their secondary coach and now there is a need to understand what that means to recruits tied to the departing coach. Jaevon Walton was recruited by Terry Joseph and he has his thoughts about the recruiting coach that is leaving Lincoln.

New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr linebacker has already flipped on a commitment from Louisiana to Nebraska. Walton is now enduring a change of his recruiting coach for the Huskers.

"Yes sir, Coach Terry Joseph was my recruiting coach," Walton said. "Coach Joseph leaving Nebraska for Texas A&M doesn't do anything for my commitment. I am committed to Nebraska; not to the coach."

The 6-foot-0 and 225-pound linebacker had had a conversation with the departing coach. It was more of an explanation of the decision to change jobs. It was a positive conversation between the recruit and the coach.

"I spoke with Coach Joseph about his decision over the phone. He explained the offer and his decision to leave. We wished each other the best and that's it."
