Sophomore tight end Nick Lenners of Lincoln Southwest (Neb.) went out and had a good performance at the Army Combine in San Antonio.
"It's been good. It's been a good experience," Lenners said. "I felt like I have done alright, there is always room for improvement."
He added, "It has been a good experience competing with guys that are older than me."
Lenners stands 6-foot-4, 220 pounds and plays tight end for Lincoln Southwest.
"I play tight end, I like blocking and I like being on the line because that is where football starts, but I also like going out downtown and using my speed," Lenners said.
And what are his strengths at the position?
"I have played tackle before so I do know how to block and I do know how they work," Lenners said. "But I also can go out, I played receiver and running back when I was younger so I can run with the ball and catch the ball.
On the recruiting trail, there is one school in particular that Lenners hopes to hear from in the coming years.
"It is early but I have heard from a few schools and I am hoping to hear from some bigger ones," Lenners said. "I haven't visited anywhere yet, but I would like to visit Nebraska."
Lenners has some family connections with the Huskers and being a local prospect has his eye on an offer from Nebraska.
"I have been to some games and I really like Nebraska. I was born and raised in Nebraska so I just like the Huskers. My uncle played for the Huskers, Kurt Lenners he played in the late 90's.
