Avery rates Nebraska a "solid 9"

Dallas (Texas) Carter running back Corey Avery was in Lincoln this past weekend. The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Avery came away impressed with Nebraska and has one visit to go before making a decision.

Corey Avery is a running back target that Nebraska is really zeroing in on down the backstretch of the recruiting calendar. The talented runner from Dallas (Texas) Carter was in Lincoln this weekend.

"The visit went good," Avery said. "I really liked seeing everything here like the facilities. The locker room, weight room and the indoor field were all really nice."

The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Avery had a good chance to sit down with the running back coach to look at the offense. He saw that he would be a good fit based on his strengths running the football.

"Coach Ron Brown and I had a chance to talk about the Nebraska offense and how I fit. I thought that I could fit in just fine. I am quick and hit the hole hard and I think that style would work."

Some were thinking that Avery might pull the trigger on a commitment this weekend in Lincoln. He didn't, but gave the visit a very high rating thinking about the many things to stood out to him about his time in Lincoln.

"No sir I didn't commit," Avery said. "I would rate the visit a solid "9" out of 10 though. The weight room and the indoor field and all of the new expansions to the stadium. I can't think of anything that could have been better."

Avery has one visit to go and says that he will make his decision sometime after the visit next weekend. "I am going to visit Kansas next weekend. I plan on making my decision some time after that."
