Clarks hits Lincoln for junior day

Syracuse offensive lineman Matt Clark talked with Big Red Report about his Nebraska junior day experience.

Syracuse high school (NE) offensive lineman Matt Clark was in Lincoln for junior day on Saturday and walked away very impressed.

"They have an excellent campus and one thing that stood out to me was they really focused on their academics. They prepare guys to find the career that works for them," said Clark, who left without an offer but an understanding he would be evaluated down the road. "I'm going to go to camp this summer in the middle of June.

"I was talking with Coach Cotton and he said that he really wants to work with me at the camps. I could earn an offer there, but I'm not sure."

Clark, who stands 6-foot-5, 290-pounds, was named to the Omaha World Herald's All-Nebraska team as a junior. He currently is also drawing interest from Wisconsin.

"I was invited to Wisconsin's junior day, but it was the same as Nebraska's, so we couldn't make it work. I'm not really sure yet if I will be visiting anywhere else this spring."

Big Red Report asked Clark what he was working on this offseason.

"I'm really working on my strength. I need to get a stronger upper body," said Clark. "I'm also working with my footwork, moving quicker and being more agile."
