Wills commits to Nebraska

Nebraska is off and running again today picking up another commitment on Sunday morning. This one was Ashland (Ala.) Clay Cty. defensive end DeAndre Willis who found what he was looking for in Lincoln this weekend.

DeAndre Wills from Ashland (Ala.) Clay Cty. was getting the most recruiting attention from Alabama prior to his official visit to Nebraska this weekend. The 6-foot-3 and 240-pound defensive end picked up a Nebraska offer, took an official visit to Nebraska this weekend and committed while on the visit.

"I committed to Nebraska this morning," Wills said while on his way to the airport. "Everyone just made me feel like I was so at home while I was here on my visit. There are some great people here."

One of the things that caught the eye of Willis all weekend were the facilities at Nebraska. He looks back at them as one of the biggest reasons he chose to become a Husker.

"The facilities here are just crazy. I absolutely loved them and I am not just saying that now since I am committed. It's one of the things that really stood out to me about my visit."

The interest from Nebraska is new, but the Huskers showed how interested they were by throwing down an offer to Wills. The defensive line coach for Nebraska led the recruiting and asked Wills to take a visit.

"Nebraska had been recruiting me for about three weeks or so. Coach Rick Kaczenski has been the one recruiting me. They offered and asked me to visit."

The Huskers are looking at Wills to play defensive end and that is where he feels he is best suited to play. He says that he loves to rush the quarterback off of the edge.

"Nebraska likes me as a defensive end. I think that I am a good pass rusher. My job is to get to the quarterback and that is what I love to do."

Wills said that he had a few other offers to go along with Nebraska. He also took a couple of unofficial visits to a couple of SEC schools prior to his official visit to Nebraska this weekend.

"I had offers from Ole Miss, Clemson and Central Arkansas. I took unofficial visits to LSU and to Alabama before taking the official visit to Nebraska this weekend."
