"It's a childhood dream come true. My brother and I would wait around when were little for the Nebraska game to start," Gaylord told Scout.com's Randy Withers. "I remember telling my brother before games that I was going to play there someday."
Many had thought Gaylord was a logical choice to commit over the weekend. When it didn't happen right away, he told Big Red Report that his decision would be coming soon.
According to Scout.com's Greg Powers, Gaylord is a physical player with true tackle potential.
"He is light on his feet for a big man and has good size to go along with some power," said Powers in his Scout.com evaluation. "He is solid at the point of attack, but his best attribute may be his ability to fire out quickly and secure blocks on linebackers on the second level."
With four commitments in the 2015 class, three of them being four-star players, Nebraska's future looks bright over the next few months in recruiting.
"It's good to get the recruiting momentum flowing early on in a recruiting cycle, because other recruits can feed off of that energy and success," said Powers when asked about Nebraska's 2015 class. "Everyone wants to be the part of something special and come in to a class with other high level players.
"Gaylord is a prospect that a number of area college have coveted and extended offers for him. This is a big recruiting win to keep an established pipeline to Kansas for its top talents."
Big Red Report and Scout.com will have more on Christian Gaylord's decision to commit to Nebraska in the coming hours.
