"I heard about the offer from my godfather," said Preston, who appeared to be in the 6-1, 190-pound range yesterday at the CORE6 Showcase held at Joe Yenni Stadium in Metairie, an unincorporated suburb of New Orleans.
"My godfather handles my recruitment. He let me know about Missouri. They're interested and really want to talk with me. They've been sending a lot of letters."
Preston is interested in learning more about Mizzou, which is certainly known for its wide receivers (DorIal Green-Beckham, etc.).
He is also visiting Florida State on March 1.
BRIEF EVAL: Preston may very well have been the number two receiver yesterday at the CORE6 Showcase behind only WR MVP Terrell Chatman of Central.
On the final play of the showcase, he successfully went deep for six vs. Warren Easton 2015 corner Jeremie Francis.
On film, it's clear that Hahnville's coaching staff likes to get Preston the ball and let him do his thing in space. He's capable of taking a short catch and turning it into a long touchdown.
He's gotten much bigger from a physical standpoint over the past year. His neck and shoulders are particularly well-developed.
On the third play of his junior highlight video, Preston does stellar work blocking on a run play, sticking with his assignment and steadily driving the target down the field.
On the fourth play Preston does the same thing, but it's even more impressive, as he pancakes his first target and then continues down the field to seek out a second victim.
