Earlier this week, Whitlow picked up an offer from Mississippi State and the news appears to have been welcomed by the talented junior.
"Mississippi State offered me," said Whitlow. "I went to the junior day last weekend and it was great.
"I had a great time meeting with Coach (David) Turner.
"I had talked with him before, but this was my first time visiting the campus and having the chance to talk with him.
"I really like the school and all of the facilities.
"I wouldn't trade that visit for anything in the world.
"I had a great time and I really liked it over there."
With the offer and the face time with Whitlow last weekend, the Bulldogs appear to have made a strong move with the talented edge rusher.
"Mississippi State is up there," said Whitlow. "Coach Turner and I have a good relationship and he says that he really wants me over there.
"That's definitely a school I could see myself going to."
While Mississippi State is the most recent offer for Whitlow, the Alabama native visited another SEC program just yesterday.
"I want over to Auburn yesterday and talked with Coach (Rodney) Garner and Coach (Gus) Malzhan," said Whitlow. "They told me that they are going to be in touch with me.
"They haven't offered yet, but we have really just started talking some."
Whitlow reports that he is prepared to wait out the process for now and that he is not planning to make an early decision.
