Checking out Kansas State this weekend

Nebraska has only extended one offer to in-state players. That player is Omaha (Nebr.) North offensive lineman Michael Decker. Decker picked up his second D-I offer last week and he will headed there this weekend for their junior day.

Michael Decker, a 6-foot-4 and 280-pound offensive pound lineman from Omaha (Nebr.) North, is taking a trip this weekend. The standout lineman was in Lincoln for junior day at Nebraska and he will be attending another junior day today.

"I had been thinking about things," Decker said. "I am headed to Kansas State today for their junior day. That is the only thing that I have planned to do in stone. I have been throwing around going to Iowa State and also going to a Nebraska practice."

The visit to Kansas State follows up their offer that they extended to him last week. He hasn't spoken with anyone on the coaching staff since they offered, but he says that it was exciting to pick up another big-time offer.

"I got an offer from Kansas State last weekend. My coach called me and told me about it. I haven't spoken to anyone from Kansas State personally about it yet. It was awesome to pick up my second D-I offer."

Decker is kicking around the idea of camping at a Big Ten school this summer too. There are a lot of things that he's thinking about when it comes to these types of visits.

"I have been entertaining the idea of going to camp at Wisconsin for one day," Decker said. "I am trying to think about what is best for me and which school camps I would want to go to."

The communication with Nebraska has been pretty consistent since Decker visited on February 1. He has spoken with one of the Nebraska coaches a couple of times and has been exchanging messages over social media with another one of the coaches.

"Mostly, Coach Barney Cotton calls and talks to my coach and he asks me to call him. We have done that a couple times since I visited. It's gone well. Coach John Garrison will message with me over Facebook."
