"I was in Lincoln on Saturday," Megginson said. "I was there all day on Saturday and left about 4:00. I saw their practice and then some."
While it was just the Huskers first practice the 4-star offensive lineman came away very impressed. He noted the tempo, competition and he wouldn't have guessed it was their first practice.
"Their practice was crazy! I loved it. It was such a great pace and had a high level of competition. It looked like Nebraska had been practicing for a while, but it was their first practice."
Megginson wanted to contrast and compare how some offensive lineman came into the program and how they looked now. Two of the names he focused on really blew him away how well they were doing in to the program in such a short amount of time.
"Their offensive line is filled with some good-sized fellas. I looked up players like Ryne Reeves and Zach Sterup and how they developed since coming into the program. It was insane. They move great and I loved their intensity of the whole group."
The No. 15 offensive tackle in the nation also came away impressed with Nebraska's academics. He said that the Nebraska head coach told him that there is as much of an interest off the field than there is on it with Nebraska and their players.
"I really liked the way that Nebraska stressed their academics. Coach Bo Pelini talked about making you better as a person in every perspective in their program. I really liked that."
The visit went incredibly well and it has Megginson thinking about a return visit to Lincoln. He is eyeing the spring game and possibly Big Red Weekend in June, but admits that could depend on his commitment decision he would like to make in May.
"I am going to try and get to Nebraska's spring game and possibly Big Red Weekend depending on what I do when I commit. I would like to commit on my birthday which is May 26th."
The highly touted offensive lineman is holding offers from teams such as Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and others. The visit impressed Megginson though and says he won't name favorites, but the Huskers are high on his list now.
"I went to Nebraska not knowing what to expect," Megginson said. "Without getting into naming leaders or favorites I will say that Nebraska is really, really high on my list after my visit."
