Huskers offer White

Nebraska offered one of the top quarterbacks yesterday. The 4-star quarterback says that he might be able to make a trip to Lincoln this summer. What are his thoughts about the Nebraska offer?

Brady White is supposed to be wrapping up basketball season at Newhall (Calif.) William S. Hart. The 6-foot-2 and 180-pound junior didn't play this year though to concentrate his efforts on preparing for his senior year on the football field.

"I usually play basketball every year," White said. "I didn't play this year though to focus on football. Our spring break is the first week in April and we will probably be starting spring ball right after that."

The 4-Star quarterback has a lot going for him -- good mechanics, quick release and intelligence for starters -- but he says you can always improve. White wanted to get better at everything in the off-season, but was focused on a couple of key areas.

"I really just wanted to get better at everything. Specific areas that I worked on were the depth of my drop and the quickness of it. I just want to work on every aspect of the game and be a better athlete."

Everywhere you look you will find White listed as a pro-style quarterback. That would be overlooking a 4.68/40 to go with 320 yards rushing with nine touchdowns.

"I am listed by every recruiting service as a "pocket passer" and those players are known to have an ability to swing it around and make plays. But, I think I have mobility.

"I think that I have enough athleticism and am smart enough to take what a defense is giving to me at any one time. I think that I can make all of the throws and do everything well with several things and can get better at others."

White says that the most important part to his decision will be education, but he's definitely looking at the football program side of things as well. He is also looking for the right school to help him get to the next level.

"I am looking for a school with a great academic program to help me get my education. I will need my degree for my life after football.

"I am looking for a great football program with a winning tradition where I can go and compete for championships. I am also looking for a staff to take me to the next level and for the overall right fit."

It's a dozen offers for White with the latest two coming just yesterday. The Huskers were one of the two teams to extend an offer to White and it has him thinking. White believes he can get out to Lincoln this summer for camp possibly.

"I am up to 12 offers now," White said. "Kentucky and Nebraska both offered me on Tuesday," White said. "Nebraska has been contacting me over social media for a while now; a couple of months or so and I have been getting a lot of mail from them.

"They are a huge program so it was great news to get an offer from the Huskers. I think that I can actually get out to Lincoln this summer for camp, but nothing is set up for me right now."

White finished up his junior year with 4,535 passing yards on 333 completions of 524 attempts. He threw for 41 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
