"I wanted to take a break so I didn't play basketball this year," Imatorbhebhe said. "I want to maintain my weight through that time. My brother and the rest of my teammates have just been grinding and getting ready for the season."
For some missing an athletic season to prepare for another is too steep of a price. It's not for Imatorbhebhe who thinks back to how his junior season ended just short of the state title.
"I just thought back to the moment in the dome, we lost in the state playoffs, and I felt time slipping away from me. I wanted to attack this year and win wide receiver of the year and get bigger, stronger and faster. I was 199-pounds at the end of last season and I have gained 20 pounds."
Despite the extra weight it's still a bit of a stretch to see Imatorbhebhe as an every down tight end lining up next to the tackle. He's more versatile than just a "third tackle" and has more of a wide receiver skill set.
"College coaches like me as a hybrid," Imatorbhebhe said. "I am comfortable in the slot and I am getting better about with putting my hand in the ground. I am looking more and more like a player that can do that. I am planning on graduating early and I want to enroll and play at 240 to 245-pounds next fall."
Imatorbhebhe has quite a list of offers particularly when you look at the conferences that they are from. He says that it's going to come down to fit for him, but there is also a strong desire for the family to stick together with the college decision.
"I am sitting on seven offers right now. I have offers from Florida, Missouri, Cincinnati, Boston College, Wake Forest, Yale and Nebraska. I think that I am just looking for the right fit. I want to go to a school where I am valued not only as a player, but as a person. My mom has always wanted my brother and I to go to the same school too."
One of the latest offers for Imatorbhebhe has come from the Huskers. Nebraska have told him that he's at the top of their wish list at the tight end position and through some research he likes the potential fit in Lincoln.
"Nebraska offered me on Thursday. My coach put me on the phone with Coach Charlton Warren from Nebraska and they told me that I was their at the top of their board. It was great to hear that and their interest was out of the blue.
"Nebraska really fits me academically since I have started to research them. I want to give all of the schools a chance and we are looking into a visit. It's definitely a school I'd consider visiting with the rest of my family."
"I am going to Missouri on March 4th and 5th. I am then going to go to Florida on March 7th. I am going to go to Wake Forest for their spring game and I will probably visit Boston College too."
