Perry visting Nebraska

Jackson Perry from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman will be one of quite a few recruits in attendance on Saturday for Nebraska's spring game. What are his thoughts about his upcoming visit?

Nebraska has a nice list of players visiting Lincoln this weekend for the annual Red-White spring game. One of those players is heralded lineman Jackson Perry from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman. Perry is doing track and workouts this spring.

"I am doing track and working out this spring," Perry said. "I do discus and shot put. I am building strength through my workouts. We have some new workouts with new technology."

Perry didn't set out to get better on one particular this this off-season. He actually wanted to get better at everything all the way from his physical strength to flexibility.

"I just wanted to get a little better at everything. I wanted to work on a better punch, better technique, better flexibility and of course strength and speed."

Perry is being touted as a two-way lineman by many. He says that he doesn't care which side of the ball he's recruited to play on in college because he has strengths on both sides.

"I tell people that I don't have a preference where I play at the next level," Perry said. "I will play either offensive line or defensive line. I think that I have strengths playing both.

"As an offensive lineman I am a quick thinker and I have good feet. As a defensive lineman, I would say it's my get off and physicality. It's about breaking their will."

There are two offers on the table for Perry. There is ongoing conversation between Perry and some other teams including a number of Ivy League schools.

"I have two offers; Nebraska and UCLA," Perry said. "I am going to be talking with the coach from Washington and I know that schools like Yale, Harvard and some other Ivy League schools like me too."

Perry will be in Lincoln this weekend for the spring game. He will be there with a former high school team mate that will be moving on to Nebraska in just a couple short months.

"I am going to the Nebraska red-White spring game. I am going out there with Nick Gates, but on different flights. We are good friends. He's told me it's a lot of fun there and I want to see if for myself. He always tells me 'Go Big Red!'."
