Huskers lead for Brokop

The Nebraska staff had a number of 2015 visitors in town this weekend for the spring game. There was also this 2016 prospect who is already holding an offer from the Huskers.

Bryan Brokop from New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way West is one of the top junior offensive tackles in the nation. The 6-foot-5 and 273-pound Brokop was just getting back home after visiting Nebraska this weekend.

"We are back home now and are unpacking," Brokop said. "We flew into Omaha and drop to Lincoln on Friday. We drove back to Omaha on Saturday night after the game and flew back today."

The first day in Lincoln was a productive one for Brokop who got a chance to get a coach-hosted tour of the football facilities. He came away very impressed with them and the people at Nebraska.

"On Friday was was able to meet with Coach John Garrison and I got a tour of the facilities. I got to see the weight room and the locker room and they are ridiculously big.

"Nebraska just has it all figured out. It's tough to explain, but the coaches, the players and all the people are just so nice and give it to you straight."

There was a chance to sit down with the head coach for Brokop. He liked what he saw in the game the intensity that they played with as well as the team going out there and having fun.

"Coach Bo Pelini, the way that he is sometimes portrayed in the media, couldn't be any more different because he was such a great guy to speak to. I liked the game, like the play of the offensive line and love the intensity. I thought that they were just all out there with smiles having fun."

After the game and the weekend Brokop says that the Huskers could be a good fit for him. He likes how the Nebraska staff wants to push their players and says that he could see himself in the offense.

"Yeah, I would say that Nebraska is a good fit for me," Brokop said. "They like to push their players and I like to see what I can do with that encouragement. I think that the style of offense works for me too and they play physical."

Nebraska has definitely made an impression on Brokop considering a recent trip. He says that Nebraska is clearly his leader and is the standard for all of his future trips which may include a return trip to Nebraska in June.

"Honestly, I was at Michigan last weekend and then Nebraska this weekend and Nebraska is my top team after those two visits. They are the benchmark. I love the people there, the coaches and everything. We are talking about coming back for Big Red Weekend, but we aren't sure yet."
