BRR Filmroom: Kendall Bussey

The Nebraska junior day on February 1 yielded some good results. The Huskers were able to haul in four players that visited that weekend over three days including this exciting running back from New Orleans.

Nebraska fans believe that the most under-rated player in their recruiting class is Kendall Bussey. Bussey a 5-foot-9 and 190-pound running back from New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman had a huge junior year.

Bussey finished just short of 1,000 yards with 974 total rushing yards, but it was the attempts that makes it impressive. It was on just 79 attempts for a 10.9 ypc average and rushed for 18 touchdowns.

The three-star recruit, rated the No. 85 running back in the nation, was big in the passing game as well. He hauled in 31 receptions for 408 yards and another eight scores averaging 13 yards per catch.

Put on the tape though and Nebraska fans see a runner that couldn't be more perfect for the Huskers' offense. You see glimpses of Ameer Abdullah, Ahman Green and even a guy like DeAngelo Evans when you see him run.

On one hand, it's the home run threat that Bussey provides. He can hurt a team in so many different ways off of a stretch play, a delayed draw, as a receiver in the slot or running a deep seam out of the backfield.

On the other hand you can't overlook the toughness. Bussey has some "bowling ball" qualities that allow him to bounce off of people, keep his feel moving and get back into a top gear very quickly.

And when I saw top gear it's not an overstatement at all. The talented runner just ran a 10.5-electronically timed 100-meter dash this past week with his districts on the horizon. that speed combined with hos physical gifts make Bussey one of the key gets for the Huskers in their 2015 recruiting class.
