Haskins talks about Nebraska offer

It's been a productive three weeks for 2016 quarterback prospect Dwayne Haskins. He's picked up four offers in that timeframe and a number of other schools are set to stop by Potomac (Md.) Bullis to see the talented recruit.

Dwayne Haskins is riding a wave of offers which will only continue to grow. The 6-foot-2 and 180-pound signal-caller from Potomac (Md.) Bullis is only a junior, but Nebraska came by his school yesterday and also extended him an offer.

"Nebraska offered me today (Wednesday)," Haskins said. "I spoke with Coach Tim Beck from Nebraska and he said that they were going to offer. He made a special trip out to my school to see me."

The offer from Nebraska is the first from a Big Ten school. He said that he knew that Nebraska does have success producing NFL talent and that he was going to start researching the Huskers a little more online.

"I was definitely excited about the offer. It's a Big Ten school and they produce a lot of NFL players. I haven't really been able to research anything about them yet. I am going to start taking a better look at them."

The Nebraska staff is trying to get Haskins out to Lincoln for one of their two Big Red Weekend events in June. Haskins says that he would definitely like to take the visit.

"I am going to talk with my parents about going to Nebraska for their Big Red Weekend in June. I want to show my gratitude for the offer and also show my interest in them."

The film on Haskins is impressive. He has great feet, he can make all of the throws and his eyes stay downfield. He says that he's also a leader for his team regardless of what he's being asked to do on any particular down.

"I think that I can make all of the throws first of all," Haskins said. "I am a good leader. I can make the touchdown throws, hand it off to the running back, break the pocket and run with it."

The Nebraska offer, along with the other offers for Haskins, are all pretty new. It's definitely a sign of things to come for the junior quarterback who knows a number of other schools plan to come and see him over the coming weeks.

"Nebraska was my fourth offer and I have received all of my offers in the past three weeks. I have offers from SMU, Arizona State and Utah as well. I have been hearing from a lot of other schools too.

"Lately some of the schools I have heard from are Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Clemson, Boston College, West Virginia and a couple other schools have told me that they are coming to see me soon."

Haskins has already been on a couple of trips so far this spring. He says that he has some camp plans to go along with the possible trip to Nebraska in June. Nothing has been set for sure.

"I have been to Maryland and West Virginia for their spring games. I am going to go to camp at LSU and I want to get to Nebraska for Big Red Weekend and possibly a camp. I want to do some Friday Night Lights camps as well."
