2015: Texas Hot 100

Scout.com looks at the current Top 100 prospects in Texas (April 29)...

1). OLB Malik Jefferson - Ralph H Poteet HS
So far Jefferson has been the wire-to-wire No. 1 rated prospect in the state on Scout. He has a great highlight tape and backed up what you see there with a strong showing at the Dallas NFTC, earning an invite to The Opening. Has over 30 offers from the top schools.

2). CB Kendall Sheffield - Marshall HS
Sheffield is a defensive back who you can place out on the island and let him lock down the other team's best receiver. He has super top-end speed and has been tested as one of the top Sparq performers in the country. He has all of the top offers on his list. He is invited to The Opening.

3). DT Daylon Mack - Gladewater HS
Mack is very good on tape, showing that he has the quickness and strength to be a difference maker at the position. What you like best about him is that he goes hard snap after snap and his play helped lead a team on a playoff run, despite being underdogs in its match-ups. Committed to Texas A&M.

4). WR DaMarkus Lodge - Cedar Hill HS
Lodge is a player who is able to make plays when the spotlight is shining at its brightest. He helped Cedar Hill to a 5A State title, busting out on the scene as a major target from top programs across the country. He has good size and can be a premiere receiver who can make deep plays or be leaned on to pick up first downs.

5). OG Maea Teuhema - Keller HS
Rated as the No. 1 offensive guard in the country. The LSU commit is a massive offensive line prospect who just completely eats his opponents up. He is so much bigger and stronger and has a real nasty streak about him. He takes pride in finishing blocks with a pancake.

6). S Deionte Thompson - West Orange-Stark HS
Thompson is very impressive. He has the build or frame of a free safety, but is able to play in coverage like a cornerback. It is not hard to see what Alabama liked in him to offer and accept his commit so early in the process. He was the MVP of the Houston NFTC, earning The Opening invite.

7). QB Jarrett Stidham - Stephenville HS
Stidham is an interesting prospect who has many of the tools that will translate well to the college level and make him a quarterback prospect who many coaches feel has a chance to be developed in to an NFL caliber type of player. He has a plus arm and is not afraid to push limits. Committed to Texas Tech.

8). RB Sotonye Jamabo - Plano West Senior HS
Jamabo, a brute, is one of those players who is able to take over games at times and steal the spotlight. He is also a tremendous basketball player, which speaks of his overall athleticism. Once he settles in as a full-time football player he will become even stronger and tougher to tackle.

9). QB Kyler Murray - Allen HS
Already rated as a top five prospect at his position nationally, Murray will get the chance to show that he has what it takes to push for the top spot at the Elite 11 finals in July. His accuracy and quick release will keep him the discussion. Also the field general for two state titles, which speaks to his ability to direct his team to wins.

10). CB Kris Boyd - Gilmer HS
He plays both ways in high school at RB/WR and CB, but figures to be a defensive player by most once he gets to college and has a desire to play defense in college. He has turn and run ability and his size at the position gives him an advantage in one-on-one coverage against big, elite level wide receivers.
