The nationwide approach

Nebraska has made more than a handful of offers this week and it's been a nationwide effort.

The Nebraska offer list is growing after a week of steady scholarship nods by the Huskers coaching staff the past few days.

The Huskers have always recruited nationwide, but this week's offer group has been fun with no specific region getting the majority of the offers.

These states had a player or players receive a known Nebraska offer this week: California, Texas, Alabama, Maryland, Louisiana, Mississippi, Illinois, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

One of the biggest states to see the Nebraska coaching staff put in some work was California, where the Huskers made at least five known offers this week.

The 2015 class out West and especially the Southern California area is probably the deepest it has been in the last decade," said national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. "Not surprisingly, schools from all over the country are aggressively recruiting the area and especially Nebraska.

This week alone, Nebraska has offered Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei LB Ben Humphreys, Orange Lutheran (Calif.) DE Keisean Lucier-South, Riverside Poly (Calif.) WR-DB Ykili Ross, Etiwanda (Calif.) LB Khaylan Thomas and Moraga (Calif.) Campolindo TE Tyler Petite."

Biggins says the work the Huskers are putting in now during the evaluation process could help their chances greatly down the road.

"Although it's early in the process, Nebraska does have some ground to make up on the above mentioned players as they're all currently leaning towards in-state schools," said Biggins. "Still if Nebraska can at least get a visit out of them and get their foot in the door, all bets are off."

Another state where Nebraska has spent a lot of time this week has been Texas, where the focus hasn't just been on the 2015 class, but the 2016 as well.

"Nebraska is starting to turn up the heat again, targeting some of the states top underclassmen and extending offers," said national recruiting analyst Greg Powers. "Nebraska has been able to pull some top talent from the state and that's reflected on the current roster, so there's no reason to believe they can't reestablish a foothold."

Here is the offer list for each class.
