Neville Gallimore from St. Catharines (Ont.) St. Catharines CI & VS is shooting up the recruiting charts. The 6-foot-3 and 260-pound defensive end is big, athletic and you can see that his best football is in front of him.
"As a defender what I feel I have as an advantage," Gallimore said, "is that I am very athletic for my size and I am able to make plays whether its stopping the run or getting to the quarterback and chasing down opponents as well in order to make plays."
For everything that's good about Gallimore he acknowledges that he is not a polished product. He's worked hard to get to where he's at, but he knows that it's just the beginning and that he must continue to perfect his craft.
"I definitely know I am raw along the defensive line positions, but one of the things I know I need to improve on which would be the use of my hands and I would also say to be more aggressive."
Gallimore is looking for the complete package when it comes to picking out a school. He says that he wants the opportunity to achieve in every area. More than that he's looking for some special things in the football program.
"When it comes to choosing a school I need to find a school that will give me an opportunity to develop and become a great player and give me an opportunity to be successful in the classroom as well as on the field.
"Also I am looking for a school that comes with a family environment -- a positive atmosphere -- and strong relationships and bonds between the players and the coaches."
The Huskers stepped up with an offer for the fast-rising defensive prospect. Gallimore was excited by the offer
"I was very happy when Nebraska offered me recently," Gallimore said. "I know that they're a program that has put guys in a position to be successful after college football and have the opportunity to go on and play pro football.
"They also have a very good tradition in terms of producing players that excel in the classroom."
Gallimore is closing in on 20 total offers. He hasn't taken any unofficial visits yet, but says that he has a list of schools that he would like to visit unofficially at the moment.
"I have 16 offers so far and I haven't taken any trips yet. The unofficial visits I plan on taking between now and over the course of the summer will be Maryland, Eastern Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Ohio State."
