Rector set to check out Nebraska

The Huskers are definitely looking for defensive end help in the class of 2015. Nebraska has zeroed in on this defensive end from Los Angeles and he will visit Lincoln this weekend for Big Red Weekend.

Christian Rector from Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola is a highly sought after defensive end recruit. Rector is holding offers from USC, UCLA and many others. This weekend he will be in Lincoln to check out what the Huskers have to offer.

"I really want to check out the location," Rector said about the upcoming visit to Nebraska. "I want to check out the city, the atmosphere and get to know the coaches better. I want to see how much I like them and how much they like me."

The Huskers might have a bit of an "in" with Rector or at least his high school through a coach. The head coach at Loyola High School is former Nebraska assistant coach Marvin Sanders. On the visit Rector says that he really wants to check out the academic side of Nebraska.

"Coach Ron Brown is my recruiting coach from Nebraska," Rector said. "I think that my coach knows him very well personally, I think that he coached with him, and he thinks very highly of him.

"One of the things that I want to see at Nebraska is the academic profile of the school. I want to check out their majors and see what they have to offer. I would like to see some of the classrooms and academic facilities."
