Bellevue West WR to camp at Nebraska

C.J. Johnson from Bellevue (Nebr.) West might be the next in-state player to get a Nebraska offer. There was big news on that front that could assist in that area as well.

C.J. Johnson is a name that Nebraska fans have been wondering if a Nebraska offer could be in the cards. The standout wide receiver from Bellevue (Nebr.) West says that he is getting ready to be at camp in Lincoln on Monday.

"We have been out of school for a couple of weeks now," Johnson said. "We have had football for the past five days or so. I will be going to camp at Nebraska on June 9th for one day. That day is right in the middle of a three-day session."

News on the recruiting front today for Nebraska included a decommit of a wide receiver from the 2015 class. That could possibly be the opening that a player like Johnson could need -- fueled by a good camp performance -- to pick up a Nebraska offer. He knows that there is only so much of that he can control.

"I haven't really thought about it to be honest. I took a nap after football today, woke up and saw some text messages about a player decommitting to Nebraska wondering what it was all about.

"I really don't have any say in the matter at all. It's all up to Nebraska. I am looking forward to going to camp on Monday, working hard and trying to pick up an offer based on my abilities."

Johnson isn't the only in-state player to pay attention to news following camp on June 9th. OL/DL Adam Holtorf says that he is planning on a one day camp at Nebraska as well on the 9th.
