Not getting to Nebraska in June

2016 offensive lineman Bryan Brokop saw where he was listed – and listed highly – in the new Top 300 for 2016. The talented recruit was trying to get to Lincoln for Big Red Weekend, but a return visit is going to have to wait.

Bryan Brokop from New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way West HS has been trying to work out the logistics to get to Lincoln for Big Red Weekend. Even with two dates in June to visit Nebraska it just can't get worked out.

"I can't get there this weekend," Brokop said. "I wanted to go last weekend, but my mom had to work. This weekend my family is traveling out to California for my brother's graduation. They are going to see a baseball game in each of the five baseball parks."

Brokop visited Lincoln for their spring game and really enjoyed the trip. He knew immediately following the spring game that he wanted to get back to Nebraska for another visit. He says that he's been staying in regular contact with Nebraska.

"I really want to make it back to Nebraska this summer. I tried to call Coach Garrison and missed him. I don't know when I might be able to make it, but I am trying."

The Top 300 for 2016 was released today and in it's debut Brokop was on the list. He has started out as a four-star prospect and the No. 3 offensive guard overall.

"I saw that," Brokop said. "That's an honor. It's early and I am young, but it's really an incentive for me to keep working hard and trying to get better."
