Bubak is one to watch

Nebraska fans need to learn the name Jared Bubak. After a strong camp performance this week the Huskers want to see some games this fall of the standout junior which could lead to an offer.

Big Red Weekend today for Nebraska brought a lot of 2016 recruits to Lincoln. Jared Bubak was at camp for the Huskers earlier in the week and spent the day at the school taking the tours and talking to the staff.

"It was a long day," Bubak said. "It started at 1:00 and we got home about 9:30 or so. I was at the school Wednesday through Friday for camp and all day today for Big Red Weekend.

"I got a ton of positive feedback from Coach Barney Cotton. He likes my speed and my hands. They said that I have everything that they are looking for. They want to come to some of my football and basketball games and could possibly offer this winter."

Bubak, a 6-foot-4 and 240-pound junior tight end from Lincoln (Nebr.) Christian, liked the Nebraska facilities. He also liked how Nebraska integrated technology into the weight room for the athletes.

"We got to tour the facilities. We saw the weight room, the academic center, the locker room and everything was top-notch. I like the technology in the weight room. It really impressed me."

Bubak broke out for a position meeting with the position coach and a player on the team. He came away the most impressed with the relationship that the coach has with the players.

"I talked with Coach Cotton and Tray Foster during the tight ends meeting. I was impressed with how Coach Cotton treats his players basically as his own kids. It's a real family environment there."

It's going to be a busy summer for Bubak who is off to team camp next week. He says that he has two more trips immediately following the team camp as well.

"Next week we go to team camp, I will go to Wyoming the week after that and then I will go to Tennessee for a visit and a one day camp."
