Focused on improving

Noah Fant might be the top player in the state of Nebraska in 2016, but at which position? After a solid workout last week in summer camp there is a question remaining about which position he could play in college?

Noah Fant from Omaha (Nebr.) South was in Lincoln for the first installment of Big Red Weekend a week ago. He returned on Monday to take part in a summer camp. The junior worked out both on offense and defense for the Nebraska staff.

"I was there the 9th for one day," Fant said. "I think that I did pretty well. I learned a couple of things run blocking. I did defense first and then they switched sides of the ball. They did that in the morning and in the afternoon."

Following camp Fant had a chance to sit down with one of the position coaches from Nebraska. He got some good feedback, but also heard that the Huskers are wondering which position he might play two years down the road based on his current size and speed.

"I talked to Coach Barney Cotton about my performance. He thought that I did really good particularly in one-on-ones. I ran a 4.7, but they aren't sure if I am a tight end, defensive end or possibly a wide receiver if I can get my time down."

Fant is headed back to try and trim some time off of his 40 and also add some weight. The athlete tag is great right now. He knows that there is a lot of time ahead of him before he goes to college and he is going to put in the work to develop himself.

"I am working on my 40 time and also trying to add some weight," Fant said. "I am around 205-pounds right now. I think that it's fine to be called a bit of an unknown by Nebraska. We don't know how the next year will go or what my body will do."

Fant is set to go to Wisconsin this weekend as well South Dakota State at the end of June. Fant will also hit some basketball camps.
