Lewis sets a date

Jaason Lewis set a date for his commitment on Tuesday. Following his announcement, the four-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes running back spoke with Scout.com.

Earlier today, Jaason Lewis announced via Twitter that he will be committing on Oct. 30.

A few weeks ago the 6-foot-4, 241-pound Lewis narrowed his list to 15 schools.

Arizona State, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Oregon, UCLA, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss – in no particular order – are the schools he is still considering.

"I'm still wide open with those 15 schools, but Arizona State, Oregon, UCLA, Miami, LSU, Florida and Maryland are standing out right now," said Lewis, who decommitted from UCLA last month.

Lewis has some visits in mind.

"I'm going to Miami, Florida and LSU this summer, but I don't have any dates set up yet," he said.

While nothing is set, five schools appear to be in good shape for official visits.

"Right now, the schools with the best chance for officials are Arizona State, Oregon, Florida, Miami and LSU," he said.

Lewis is the No. 30 running back in the country and the 243rd-ranked prospect overall.
