Hoops Recruiting Central: Maker visit

Elite big man Thon Maker will visit Indiana in August, a huge visit for the Hoosiers.

Thon Maker, the top-overall player in the 2016 class, is planning to visit Indiana in August.

That's significant news. Maker is one of the most talked about recruits in any class and could be a program changer for whichever school he chooses. Maker has been debating a move to the 2015 class, and there's a decent chance that will happen.

Maker visited Kansas and Missouri already earlier this week and will visit Duke on June 30. Then, it's "probably" going to be Indiana.

"I know we'll probably be visiting Indiana in August," Maker's guardian, Ed Smith, told our Evan Daniels. "UCLA has offered. They had offered before, but I'm supposed to be out west. When I'm out west at adidas Nations, we'll probably do UCLA at that time.

"When we do Indiana, we'll do Kentucky. When I do UCLA, I'll do Arizona. Those ones that you can drive even thought it's a little bit of drive."

Maker, a 7-foot big man, is a well-rounded player who can step out and make a 3-pointer, block shots at the rim and play in the post. Watch some highlights of Maker in the embedded video player below.
