Top Prospects In Kansas

Scout recaps the latest on all the top prospects in the state of Kansas for the 2015 class.

Josh Moore. Olathe North three-star tight end. I believe he could be a lineman on either side of the ball at the next level. He recently named a top five in no order of Oklahoma, Kansas, Ohio State, Florida State, and Auburn. I'd have the Sooners, Buckeyes, and Auburn out front at this point.

Evan Applegate. Three-star Shawnee Mill Valley offensive tackle. His stock has made a big jump since early on in the Spring, picking up several offers in the process. Despite all the new offers, I feel that Kansas State is in the best position at this time.

Alex Barnes. Two-star Pittsburg running back. A few schools are also looking at Barnes as a prospect in the secondary. It should be an in-state battle, with the Jayhawks possibly having a slight lead.

Marcel Spears. Two-star Olathe North outside linebacker. He's really progressed as a talent and is one of the more sought-after prospects in the region, now. Spears has probably made the biggest jump as far as his recruitment is concerned. The in-state schools have jumped in with offers now, but Iowa State and Missouri are serious threats.

Colton Beebe. Two-star Kansas City Piper athlete. He's being looked at as a linebacker and defensive end, but was offered by Minnesota as a fullback. His family's connection to Jerry Kill's staff should help out the Gophers in their pursuit.

Darreon Jackson. Two-star Derby safety. He's still waiting to hear back from Kansas State after camping for their coaching staff but the Jayhawks have already offered and I'd have them as the favorite.

Tyler Burns. Wichita Trinity running back. He's a relative unknown on the recruiting trail at this point but raked in an offer from Kansas State after camping with them. A quick commitment to the Wildcats would not surprise me.

A.J. Harris. Four-star Stillwell Blue valley center. He's the top-rated prospect in Kansas and already locked into Missouri.

Ryan Willis. Three-star Shawnee Mission Bishop Miege quarterback. He's the second-best signal caller in the Upper Midlands, only to Drew Lock. The Jayhawks have already secured his commitment.

Christian Gaylord. Three-star Baldwin offensive tackle. He's a top prospect in his own right and will play his college football in Lincoln for Nebraska.

Scott Frantz. Three-star Lawrence Free State offensive tackle. He's a prospect with a lot of upside as he's still developing. A relatively late bloomer, Frantz gave his verbal pledge to Kansas State.

Alex Delton. Three-star Hays quarterback. He was one of the first prospects in Kansas to come off the board when he committed to the Kansas State Wildcats.

Blake Peterson. Two-star Topeka Washburn quarterback. Another signal caller from Kansas, Peterson committed to Texas State early on.

Denzel Goolsby. A prospect that also had his recruitment make a quick rise during the camp cycle, Goolsby can star at running back and wide receiver. He has ideal size and length to be a cornerback as well. He quickly committed to Kansas State after being offered in June.
