River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian defensive back Hunter Dale was a name that was going to be in Lincoln in June for a visit. The 6-foot-0 and 185-pound standout wasn't able to make it in, but he is going to get there this month.
"I am going to visit Nebraska in July," Dale said. "It's really because we didn't get a chance to visit Lincoln for Big Red Weekend.
"We wanted to let the staff know that we are really interested in Nebraska and we were disappointed about not getting there before. I am taking the trip to Nebraska with my mom."
Dale knows some players on the team - Jaevon Walton, Glenn Irons and Cethan Carter - but the visit is more about meeting the staff. He also wants to meet some of the other players and take a look around town while on the visit.
"I really want to get to meet all of the coaches on the staff and start a relationship with all of them. I also want to get to meet some of the players and also get a chance to see Lincoln and take a look around."
The visit to Nebraska will take place over a three day stretch in the middle of the month of July. "We will get there on July 16th and I will be on campus on July 17th and July 18th for the visit."
The discussions that Dale has had with Nebraska have been with his recruiting and position coach. None of those discussions have included where Nebraska sees him fitting in their defense. He says that will happen in Lincoln and went on to say that he feels comfortable doing anything in the secondary.
"I talk to Coach Charlton Warren my recruiting coach the most from Nebraska. We haven't talked about where they see me fitting in on their defense. I imagine that will be what we talk about on the visit.
"I can see myself anywhere in the secondary really. I can see myself playing free safety to cornerback to strong safety to nickel back. I will play where the team needs me to play."
