Turner's Announcement is Pushed Back

University of South Carolina 4-star RB prospect A.J. Turner from V.A. is said to announce his recruitment decision on Tuesday at The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon.

A.J. Turner is making quite the splash at The Opening 2014. The 4-star prospected announced Sunday night he will make his commitment decision on Tuesday.

However, that commitment announcement has been pushed back, sources say, to Thursday.

The 5-foot-11, 187 pound running back has offers from South Carolina, Clemson, Michigan State, Ohio State, Virginia, Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, East Carolina, Wisconsin, and others.

Scout’s Brian Becker reported last week Turner had named his top five. With South Carolina, Clemson, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Virginia in that mix, the RB seems pretty confident in his decision.

“Turner is a very instinctive runner with great vision who is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the football. He is also very patient and does a fantastic job of following his blockers. Once he sees an opening, Turner attacks it and does a nice job running behind his pads. Overall, he should contribute early in his college career and has the potential to become a big-time running back,”

noted Scout Analyst Michael Clark

In 2013, the Virginia-native finished with 1,240 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns and 440 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

GamecockPride.com will be keeping up with this class of 2015 prospect’s decision throughout the week and others in The Opening 2014.
