There was some question who the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska might be for 2016 going into summer camp. There was little question coming out. Jared Bubak from Lincoln (Nebr.) Christian is physically put together at 6-foot-4 and 240-pounds and is very athletic as well for a man his size (4.7/40).
When you see Bubak on film there is no doubt who the best athlete on the field is. Bubak works out of the slot in the screen game, true tight end position, flexed out basically as an X, out of the diamond as a running back and also as a quarterback.
Nebraska has to like the versatility because the Huskers could get very creative using him at the Y or H and possibly even a U in a lot of motion. Bubak will provide matchup problems because of his speed against a linebacker and his size is a headache for any defensive back.
The offer to Bubak again further proves that Nebraska is willing to take players from inside the state boundary even though some wish that they could take more. The early offer to Bubak before his junior year matches D.J. Foster a year ago while both Luke Gifford and Michael Decker got theirs before their senior seasons.
