The summer is wrapping up and that’s just fine with Will Sunderland. The talented safety from Oklahoma City (Okla.) Midwest City is hearing and reading about the doubt surrounding he and his team this year and it’s a match to gasoline.
”We start practices on Monday,” Sunderland said. “People are doubting us this season. We are just really trying to show out. We want to show them they are wrong. We are just going to try and win games this year.”
Sunderland will balance the challenge of having a successful season on the field while taking official visits this fall. He says that he already knows of three that he will take and a fourth is being considered.
”That’s all that I know right now. I am considering visiting Nebraska. I have to see how they do this year. Those are all of the schools that I have talked about with my family and coaching staff.”
There is a need to find the right balance of qualities in a school for Sunderland. He says that there is a desire to stay closer to home, but admits that there is a way around the distance for a great fit at a school.
”I am looking at the academics, I want to see where I feel I am at home and I am really looking at the coaching staff. I would love to stay close to home, but if a school has the academics and I love it then there is a way around the distance.”
