Julian Santos is a 2016 offensive guard prospect from Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake. He’s already turned into a coveted recruit with scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Kentucky, and Nebraska. Earlier this week he picked up one from the University of Tennessee.
”He’s going to be one of those guys,” said Bob Hudson, East Lake’s coach. “He’s going to be a really good one.”
East Lake has certainly had their share of big name recruits over the past few years. Two years ago it was quarterback Pete DiNovo. Last season it was Artavis Scott and Mason Cole. This season their national guy is four-star wide receiver George Campbell. Santos is the next in line.
”We have hard our share of guys,” Hudson said. “And he has a chance to be really good. I think he’s a guard/center in college and because of our [offensive line] situation we have had to move him to left tackle. He’s just our best guy to put there. So he has to make that transition and there will be a learning curve for him.
”Julian had a good sophomore year and a nice off-season. He has 10-12 nice offers already and schools like Florida are very interested and want to wait and see how he develops this fall.”
Santos is 6-foot-3, 295-pounds.
