Lewis talks the long journey to the field

The Nebraska offensive lineman talked with the media for the first-time as a Husker.

LINCOLN, Neb. - After a long two-year journey, Colorado transfer Alex Lewis made his debut for Nebraska on Saturday. The junior offensive lineman’s backstory can be: READ HERE.

Speaking to reporters for the first time in Lincoln, Big Red Report was the first to ask about the journey for Lewis.

“I have always had the support of the players and coaches here,” said Lewis. “It’s something I learned from and something I’m going to teach to my children one day, to other people and athletes.

Lewis is the son of former Nebraska All-American Bill Lewis.

“My dad was probably up there in tears. He wouldn’t like to admit it, but he probably was,” said Alex. “He’s proud of the man I have become after the adversity I have faced.”
