Lee impressed with atmosphere

Eric Lee is the charter commitment in the 2015 recruiting class for Nebraska. The future Husker was blown away by the atmosphere and the performance on the field in Lincoln.

Eric Lee has seen some games in Lincoln before, but not like Saturday. The Nebraska commit from Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian said that the offense got the nod yesterday over the defense being most impressive in the 55-7 win.

"I want to say the offense," Lee said. "The defense here at Nebraska has that tradition of not allowing a lot of points. But the offense today was explosive. There were a lot of big plays."

Season opening games in Lincoln are something to see. Lee said that the game atmosphere was electric. You could feel the energy from the fans before the team took the field.

"The atmosphere was tremendous. Coming out of the tunnel walk the fans were ready to get the season underway."

There were some tweaks to the game day experience in Lincoln that people got a chance to see. Lee liked all of it, but he came away the most impressed with the improvements to the scoreboard.

"I would definitely say that the smoke added to the tunnel walk and the fireworks after the touchdowns helps with the energy. I like the new "N" on the scoreboard the most."

When Lee comes to town there isn't a lot that he needs to see or hasn't seen before. So the visits going forward usually center around meeting people and conversations like it did yesterday.

"I got to see some guys there like Josh Mitchell," Lee said. "I talked with him a little about the tradition of Nebraska and the Blackshirts. He said before the game that they were solid and were all looking forward to the season."
