Turner out for the year

The senior wide receiver tears his Achilles' tendon.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Senior wide receiver Jamal Turner has a torn Achilles' tendon and will miss the rest of the year, according to head coach Bo Pelini.

Turner, who had possibly found a home away from the slot receiver spot on the outside, tore it on a passing route in the second quarter against McNeese State on Saturday.

In six quarters, Turner had four catches for 37 total yards, trying to bounce back from a rough junior season where he was banged up.

Because Turner only played in two games and did not redshirt as freshman, he would be a prime candidate for a medical redshirt from the NCAA.
