Huskers will host Reuben Jones

Nebraska has a big official visitor weekend set up for their last non-conference game of the 2014-15 season. One of those visitors is a highly touted defensive end holding a double-digit offer total.

The the official visitor list for Nebraska will be lengthy. There will be a combination of visitors that are committed and who the Huskers are trying to get to commit.

One of those players will be Reuben Jones from Lakeland (Flor.) Lake Gibson. The 6-foot-3 and 225-pound Jones is holding a number of offers from schools such as Michigan State, UCF, South Florida, Cincinnati and others.

"Yes he is visiting Nebraska," Lake Gibson Head Coach Keith DeMyer confirmed over a text message last night to

There might be two spots for defensive ends in the 2015 class to go along with two defensive tackle spots taken by twin brothers Carlos Davis and Khalil Davis from Blue Springs (Mo.). Jones is clearly a name that has emerged for Husker fans as a name to watch at the DE spot.

Coach DeMyer had some big things to say about the athleticism and his motor. "Boy he runs well," said Keith Demyer, Lake Gibson's coach. "He's a 4.6 [forty] guy. Reuben is so aggressive and always playing 100 mph. Sometimes he's too fast and too aggressive and needs to slow down."

Jones will see a defensive end position at Nebraska that is featured for playmakers like top NFL prospect Randy Gregory. There is also a possibility of early playing time with the Huskers given the lack of depth at the position.
