Nebraska visits Dedrick Young

Nebraska checked in on some of their top recruiting targets this past week while on their bye week. The Huskers were in Arizona last week and stopped by to see a recruit that was just in Lincoln a few weeks ago.

Peoria (Ariz) Centennial linebacker Dedrick Young took an official visit to Nebraska three weeks ago. The 6-foot-1 and 214-pound recruit said that Nebraska returned the favor this past week stopping by to see him.

"Nebraska stopped by to see him last week," Young said. "Coach Ron Brown was the coach from Nebraska that was here. He wasn't here for my game. He just stopped to say 'what's up?'."

In the interview following his official visit to Nebraska Young said that he wasn't sure if he would make any other official visits. That seems to be holding true as of now.

"No, I haven't set up an other official visits," Young said.

Young is a versatile athlete that could play on either side of the football. Nebraska told Young on his official visit where they see him fitting in with their defense.

"Nebraska says that they like me at all three linebacker spots. Their defense flies around to the football, they do a lot of blitzing and they mix up the coverages. I think that their defense is a good fit for me."

Nebraska was sitting high on Young's list along with Washington and Arizona.
