Mirko Jurkovic a real fit at IMG

Nebraska commitment Mirko Jurkovic is enjoying his senior year at a new high school and a different position than where he was at a year ago. Jurkovic talks about his senior year and his upcoming official visit to Nebraska in November.

Mirko Jurkovic is fitting in quickly at Bradenton (Flor.) IMG Academy. The 6-foot-5 and 280-pound Jurkovic just transferred before the spring semester and is helping IMG to a solid start so far this season.

"We are doing pretty well so far," Jurkovic said. "We are 7-1 and play on ESPNU against Jacksonville (Flor.) Trinity Christian. We have played in big games on television before. When you are on the field you don't think about being on T.V."

Jurkovic is settling in not only at IMG, but at a different position than what he has played prior to coming to IMG. He's a quick study and says that there has been some challenges to the move outside.

"It's been going great for me. We have some of the best coaches in the nation here at IMG. The offensive tackle position really came naturally for me.

"Biggest part of changing position from guard to tackle was doing the kick-step. We run a lot of outside zone and that puts a bit of pressure on me to go out and perform."

Nebraska will get a chance to host Jurkovic later next month. Jurkovic visited Nebraska this summer and says that this time he wants to meet some of the other commitments. He would also like to get another opportunity to meet with the coaches again.

"I am taking my official visit to Nebraska on November 22nd when they play against Minnesota," Jurkovic said. "I really can't wait to meet some of the guys that are committed. I think that Christian Gaylord is going to be there that weekend. I also want to see the coaches again."

There are three offensive lineman in the 2015 class including Jurkovic. Nebraska has already landed two of the top interior lineman for 2016. Jurkovic is excited about the talent Nebraska is getting on their line as part of both of the classes.

"Getting players like that really makes for better competition along the line and bring out the best in you as a player. I am excited about that."
